WebDT have added to it's range of Mobile Tablets that are distributed by Xperience with a rugged fixed-mount tablet, the Web-DT 520 designed to run applications that support specific business processes like inside various vehicle environments.

For the first time, organizations can cost-effectively deploy fixed mount tablets operating in adverse computing environments such as emergency vehicles, forklifts, warehouses and watercrafts.

"Most jobs today require data access, but the majority of customized software deployments are designed for office-like environments," says Dr. Daw Tsai, president of DT Research. "Many businesses could benefit from extending computing power to workers in the field. We have leveraged our expertise in industrial mobile computing to create a tablet that is durable and at a price point that will allow deployments into new environments."

Designed for these harsh and rugged environments, the new Web-DT 520 from Xperience runs on Microsoft Windows XP Embedded and Windows XP Professional operating systems, which enable timely and cost-effective deployment of applications.

The WebDT 520 can be turned into a fixed computing device that runs only specific applications that are necessary for a particular job function. This significantly improves ease of use, security, and employee productivity. The mobile tablet enables real-time data access in harsh environments by combining high-performance processing and wireless networking with shock, vibration, and water protection. The compact, yet robust device is IP65 and MILSTD- 810F compliant, supporting waterproof and dustproof operation and standards. The tablet also features a 12.1-inch TFT LCD display and fan-less design.

The WebDT 520 tablet includes an optional back-up battery pack implemented as an uninterruptible power supply, offering additional reliability by allowing users to continue to work and save data in the event of a power loss.
